Socastee used a strong first half by Travis Frye and finished off with a great second half by Donovan Cann in a 62-42 win over Rye.  For the Braves, host of the Beach Ball Classic, it is their first win since a 2006 tournament win over Latta.

Socastee (7-2; Myrtle Beach, SC) took the lead for good with 10:59 to play in the opening half on a 3-point basket by See Man that gave the Braves their first lead at 13-11.  Socastee went on to build a 35-22 cushion at halftimeas Travis Frye led the way with 18 of his game-high 22 points coming in the opening 16-minute half.

Rye (1-4; Rye, NY) closed the gap to nine points in the second half but Socastee's Cann made sure that the Garnets would get no closer.  Cann connected on 8-of-10 from the field and tallied 17 of his 21 points in the second half to secure the win.

Rye was led by Max Twyman's 14 points and five rebounds.
